Charters Towers Rugby Union Football Club A

Presentation Night - Under 10s and Under 12s

The inaugural presentation night for the Charters Towers Rugby Union Football Club's Under 10s and Under 12s was held at the clubhouse and was a great success. We missed our patron, Mr Ron Edgar, but he sent his mesasge of congratulations to all.

Paul Brennan was the excellent Master of Ceremonies. Sergeants at Arms Sarah Bettridge and Shaun (Chilly) Burdell kept everyone honest (well....) with their fines for adults and penalties for the players. The choice of consuming guts, puppy poop, wax wands or snot shots (willing made by Tonya Burgoine) was daunting for some! There were several mug awards for happenings throughout the season.

What a great job the young players (and a couple adults) made of the toasts and replies to rugby, the club, the women of the club and referees and kindred clubs. No problems with public speaking here.

The Under 10s section was first up with the report by Coach Jon Harrison, followed by medallions for the Bulls, the runners-up in the interhouse competition and the trophies for the Hornets, the winning team. Jon also presented the perpetual trophy for this interhouse competition.

Jack Mitchell was the winner of the Leading Try Scorer trophy. We want to recognise and thank all the Under 10 players - Luke Alford, Ronny Berryman, Jordan Bidewell, Will Brennan, Sam Coffison, Jack Dixon, Max Harrison, Jesse Kyle, James Lessells, Harrison Lessells, Jack Mitchell, Ned Mitchell, Conner Neville, Jacob Peck, Kyle Richards, Calvin Roche and James Watson.

Hungry people were fed with excellent food from Subway and Eats and Sweets, then we had Jon give us his coach's report for the Under 12s and presentation of trophies.
