The Charters Towers Rugby Union Football Club's clubhouse was not big enough to hold all the players, coaches, managers, sponsors, bus drivers, parents, family and friends of the Junior Bulls teams to celebrate the 2000 rugby season. The Charters Towers PCYC was chosen as the venue for this great night.

James Doyle as our excellent MC kept the proceedings on track and interesting.

Our valued patron, Ron Edgar, spoke of the value of junior rugby to the club, community and to the players themselves.

Lachland McLennan and Marnie Wilson kept everyone in line as Sergeants at Arms.

They questioned the rugby players about their ties and hankies,...

handed Smithy some Wet Ones and Craig some duct tape (you'll have to ask why!) and presented many awards to players who had been involved in memorial incidents (even if they themselves didn't remember it) throughout the year.

to the women of the club by Edward Buck, reply by Debby Smith...

and to referees and kindred clubs by Russell west, reply by Peter Hulthen.

A media presentation, put together by Debbie Smith, including photos and video footage by Craig West and others, highlighted our Junior Bulls and some of the memorable moments of the year. Other photos kept people entertained before and during the meal, which was supplied by Di's Catering and was very welcome!

The Senior Bulls ably ran the bar.

Thanks and gifts were given to coaches and helpers.

A call was put out for help in fielding teams and staff for Junior Teams for 2010 - coaches, assistant coaches, managers and linesman/water runner. Anyone willing to help, please let us know! How many young men can we have in rugby in 2010?
